The holidays photos: a few thoughts…part two.

Le foto delle vacanze le ho fatte tutte su pellicola, come avevo già spiegato qui. E’ stato bello, lento come la vacanza di riposo che mi ero proposto di fare. E quando si scatta in analogico si pensa di più: avere tre o quattro pellicole per una decina di giorni significa poco più di una dozzina di foto al giorno. E allora rifletti se il soggetto merita veramente. E ricerchi con più cura l’inquadratura ed il punto di ripresa. Poi scatti.

I made all my holidays photos on film, as I already explained here. It was nice, slow like the holiday I had planned. And when you shoot film you think more: if you have three or four film for ten days it means an average of a dozen pictures each day. Than you reflect more before acting. Is the subject really worthwhile a photo? And you look more carefully for the best point of view and framing. Than you shoot.

Il laboratorio mi ha dato le foto, stampate come piace a me su carta opaca. A questo punto inizia l’altra parte del lavoro, un po’ di selezione. Ho impiegato qualche giorno, dapprima scartando quelle che se mostrate avrebbero richiesto una spiegazione a causa di grossolani errori. Le altre le ho raggruppate per temi e ho fatto una selezione abbastanza rigorosa. Nei prossimi giorni farò una scansione dei negativi e posterò qualche immagine. Per adesso dobbiamo aspettare ancora, fa parte dei piaceri della fotografia lenta! E a proposito del tempo che ho inserito qualche foto scattate un paio di anni addietro…si, è passato un po’ di tempo, lentamente.

The lab gave me he photos, printed as I like on matt paper. Now begins the work: selection. I rejected the ones where an explanation was necessary because of  gross mistakes. Than I divided the other in different themes and mad a strong selection. In the next days I’ll make some scans and will show you a few images. By now we have to wait again, waiting is among the pleasures of the slow photography! And about time here are a few photos I shot a couple of years ago…yes, time ago…slow please.
