L’amico Roberto mi ha ricordato che il blog va a rilento. E’ vero, forse il fotografo oltre che tranquillo è diventato anche pigro! No, è solo per via di un insieme di circostanze e impegni extrafotografici. Ma per amicizia e rispetto ai lettori, molti dei quali sono nuovi mi sono ritagliato un piccolo spazio temporale e questo è il risultato.

My friend Roberto reminded me that the blog is slowing down.  It’s true, maybe the photographer is now not only quiet but lazy as well! No, it’s simply as I already said a combination of circumstances and tasks outside the photographic field are taking most of  my time. But because of friendship and respect for my readers, many are new readers I cut a small space and here we are.

Lunghe giornate di pioggia. Guardo fuori dalla finestra e vedo colori spenti, cupi. Esco a fare quattro passi e solo un’auto rossa ravviva a malapena l’ambiente. Piove, piove, guarda come piove cantava qualcuno. Io amo l’acqua in tutte le sue forme, pioggia compresa. Ma in dosi giuste! Ora vorrei un poco di colore, basta grigiore.

Long rainy days. I look through the window  and I only see lifeless colors, dullness. I go for a short walk and only a red car barely  revives the environment. It rains, it rains, it rains, look how it rains someone was singing. I love the water in all its forms. But in the correct dose! Now I would like a little bit of color!

Amo il colore, un poco perchè la mia vita professionale è stata legata ai colori, coloranti, pigmenti. Infatti nel tempo mi sono fatto una piccola biblioteca non solo sugli aspetti tecnici, chimici (seppur prestato al marketing ero un chimico, una volta!) ma anche sul loro significato, sul loro impatto sulla vita delle persone.

I love colors! In my professional life I had to do with colors, dyes and pigments. In the time I build up a small library not only about the technical aspect (even if later donated to the marketing  I was a chemist, once!) but also about their influence on our lives.

Sapevate  che dopo una gara il battito del cuore dei cavalli ritorna ad un ritmo normale più velocemente se questi sono in un box azzurro o verde mentre se sono in un box rosso o arancio occorre più tempo?

Did you know that after a race the heartbeat of  horses slow down to a normal rate much quicker if horses rest in a green or blue box than in a red or orange one?

E allora in una giornata grigia come questa forse è dell’arancio che necessito! Cercando un poco nelle mie scatole ho trovato questa piccola serie di polaroid (quelle originali, sx 70 credo) . Ho adoperato lo sfocato dove volevo portare l’attenzione al colore, forse  era una giornata grigia anche quando ho scattato queste foto!

Than in a grey day like today I need some orange, that is a color! Looking in my boxes with the label “old” I found this series of Polaroid (original, SX 70 I believe). I worked with the out of focus areas in order to bring the attention to the color, maybe when I shot this photos was a grey day as well!
