Raccontami una storia

“Sono stato bravo oggi, nonno. Adesso raccontami tu una storia…” disse il bambino.

Lo sapete, amo la fotografia “imperfetta” che però non significa sbagliata o peggio ancora trasandata. Faccio molta attenzione alla selezione delle mie foto. Per imperfetta intendo dire  che guardando una mia foto non mi interessa si dica “wow,  incredibile, si vedono tutti i più piccoli dettagli uno per uno!”.  Desidero invece che ci si chieda quale è la storia dietro a quella foto, desidero che la foto lasci uno spazio all’immaginazione, forse anche a delle domande.

You know I love the “imperfection” in my photography, which doesn’t mean a wrong photography or even worse a shabby photo. I’m very careful in the editing of my pictures. When I say imperfect I want to say that looking at one of my pictures you should not say “wow, unbelievable  you can see all the smallest details!”. I desire instead that people ask themselves which is the story behind that picture, I desire that the photo leaves space to the imagination and maybe sometimes even ask you a question.

E credo la fotografia lo-fi, a bassa fedeltà renda più facile questo processo togliendo di mezzo i principali parametri tecnici che a volte in quest’epoca di fotografia high-tech sviano la nostra attenzione e spesso ci danno foto perfette ma senz’anima.

And I believe that this lo-fi photography makes this process easier leaving aside many technical parameters which many times in this era of high-tech photography capture our attention and oft give us photos which are perfect but without soul.
