Dovremmo fermarci a pensare come tutto ciò iniziò.

Max Liebermann, era un celebre pittore berlinese esponente dell’ Impressionismo tedesco cui il regime nazista proibì di dipingere ed esporre in quanto ebreo. Alla vista dei nazisti che entravano dalla porta di Brandeburgo commentò  “La mia voglia di vomitare è superiore alla quantità di cibo che riesco a digerire” in tedesco “Ich kann gar nicht so viel fressen, wie ich kotzen möchte“. Max morì nel 1935 ed è sepolto nel Cimitero Ebraico di Prenzlauer Berg a Berlino. Fosse solo per il coraggio nel pronunciare quelle parole, la sua tomba merita un omaggio. Il cimitero rivestito di edera è particolarmente tranquillo, andateci. Gli uomini devono coprirsi il capo.

Max Liebermann was famous a painter who contributed to initiate the German School of Impressionism. As a Jew he was forbidden by the Nazis to paint and his work was removed from museums.  While watching the Nazis celebrate their victory by marching through the Brandenburg Gate, Liebermann  commented: “I cannot eat as much as I would like to vomit”, in german “Ich kann gar nicht so viel fressen, wie ich kotzen möchte” . Because of the courage in pronouncing these words his grave should be visited. The cemetery, full of ivy and peace is a very quiet place, please go. Men must cover their heads.
