27 gennaio, giorno della memoria. please scroll down for english text
On january 27th 1945 the Sovietic troops of the Red Army arrived in the polish town of Oświęcim, discovering the drama of the today sadly known concentration camp of Auschwitz and giving back the freedom to the few survivors.
Liliana Segre, last italian survivor from Auschwitz still alive reminds us that the biggest danger today is the indifference, the apathy in confront of the evil around us. Even today terrible facts happen.
Se abbiamo una coscienza, usiamola.
If we have a conscience let’s use it.
Vi lascio con la storia di un bambino che è volato nel vento…
I leave you with the story of a child who flew into the wind…( english lyrics are enclosed)
This is true indifference is the greatest danger.
yes and we should fight against indifference, thanks for your words
I remember my friend Billy Levy telling me about the gassing of Jews during WWII. The war had recently ended: this was 1948. I ran home and told my mom what he said; I didn’t believe him. She said that’s correct. The next day I gave him a penny from my coin collection and said ‘my mom said you were right.’ I still find it difficult to think about.
Yes, it’s very difficult to think all this happend…thanks for your words
Yes! It’s scary to think that people deny these things happened or minimize them.
Scaring. very scaring. This is why we all have to work in order future generations will not forget, or deny it. Thanks for your comment.
Never forget! And yes, many places the ideas of the Nazis are catching fire again. Let’s make sure they don’t get going anywhere.
Yes. And we should work to stop this trend. Thanks for your words.
Important always remember. And yes, those where the Russians who arrived first in the extermination camp of Auschwitz.
We’ll remeber…thanks for your words…
I thank you Robert for sharing this with us.
Remeber is the minimum we can make…
Thank you for posting this today. We should never forget, and there are certainly many things to continue to watch and speak out about to help assure this depth of cruelty doesn’t happen on earth again.
Never forget and make sure that others will not forget…
A day to remember…
Yes, let’s try and hope nobody else will forget…
🙏
i had never heard of the Russians doing that! and yes, there is much evil going on in the world, probably more than anyone knows… Shame on us.
…thanks for your words. yes, evil is around but we can react. We must react and not to be simply indifferent…let’s try!
