Musica, niente guerra.
From his biography I read Leonard Cohen took years to write this song. He maniacally checked, wrote and rewrote every note, every chord, every word. I think under the circumstances he would appreciate this version of peace.
Io non so scrivere musica ne cantare canzoni. Posso solo avere il popolo di Ucraine nei miei pensieri e nelle mie preghiere. E quando penso a loro mi sento triste, arrabbiato, impotente.
I don’t know how to write music and I’m not able to sing songs. I can only have the Ukrainian people in my thoughts and prayers. And when I think of them I feel sad, angry, helpless.
Lo so, questo dovrebbe essere un blog che parla di fotografia. Ma è difficile concentrarsi sulla fotografia con le notizie che arrivano in ogni momento. Abbiate pazienza, qualche cosa di fotografico è in arrivo.
I know this should be a blog about photography. But it is difficult to focus on photography with the news arriving no stop. Be patient, somethiong photographic is on the way.
A time and a place for everything. It’s not like your blog has gone off the rails because you included some truly heart-rending music. The Leonard Cohen interpretation was splendid. 💗
grazie, thanks for your words. Much appreciated.
You have to respond the way you feel – the music is beautiful. Thank you, Robert.
Thanks, I appreciate your words. The only things I can mention is there are many actions to support Ukrainian people. In Italy we have large Ukrainian communities and many italians drive to Poland near the border of Ukraine to rescue refugees and bring them to Italy to connect them with their relatives or to stay oin a safe place if they have not relatives in Italy. Among them one priest in my town drove a minivan to bring back a few children who had been his guest a few years ago. There are still people with an heart.
Sometimes, there are no words. The music is wonderful.
Thanks, you are correct, impossible to find appprpriate words
Thank you for your heartfelt thoughts and personal action, Robert.
We are all heartbroken. And yet, we are inspired.
Prayers for us all, beginning with peace in Ukraine. I heard this many times over the past ten days on news footage:
Slava Ukraini!!!!
Dave
Thanks Dave, much appreciated. I had never thought to see a similar horror. And not so far…
Thank you.
grazie a te, I thank you !
