Spring? maybe, but only for a few days

Primavera? Forse, ma solo per qualche giorno

La primavera dovrebbe essere iniziata. Oggi è soleggiato e caldo forse ci siamo. Ma le previsioni dicono pioggia e temperatura bassa per la settimana prossima. Va bene lo stesso, abbiamo tanto bisogno di acqua, con la speranza che non faccia disastri come l’alluvione in centro Italia della settimana scorsa. E i maglioni pesanti io  li ho ancora pronti.

Intanto gioisco meravigliandomi dei miei piccoli vasi di lavanda!

Spring should have started. Today is sunny and warm maybe we are there. But the forecast says rain and low temperature for next week. That’s okay though, we need water so much, with the hope that it won’t make disasters like the flooding in central Italy last week. And the heavy sweaters I still have ready.

Meanwhile I rejoice in marveling at my little pots of lavender!

I love diptychs

Poco tempo fa ho partecipato alla RoidWeek Primavera 2022 su Flickr: per chi non la conoscesse si tratta di una manifestazione due volte all’anno per gli appassionati di fotografia istantanea.  Non ci sono premi o classifiche solo il piacere di far parte di una comunità e di proporre il proprio lavoro e vedere cosa altri appassionati fanno.

A short time ago I took part in the RoidWeek Spring 2022  on Flickr: for those who don’t know it, it’s a twice-a-year event for instant photography enthusiasts.  There are no prizes or rankings, just the pleasure of being part of a community, submit your work and see what others with your same passion do.

Per 6 giorni i partecipanti possono proporre due foto al giorno, ovviamnte rigorosamente foto istantanee.

For 6 days participants can propose two photos per day, obviously strictly instant pictures.

Mi spiace di essere stato assente per un periodo abbastanza lungo ma un malanno di salute, fortunatamente non grave ma fastidioso mi ha tenuto lontano da computer e web. Ho trascurato anche la lettura dei blog che seguivo, ma …recupererò!

i’m sorry for having been absent for a quite long time but an health issue,  not serious  but annoying has kept me away from computers and the web. Even the blogs I usually follow have been neglected, but I’ll catch up!

A boring corner

Una angolo noioso

Dal mio letto in ospedale vedevo solo questo noioso muro. Fortunatamente ci son dovuto stare solo poche ore a cause di un piccolo intervento.

From my bed in the hospital I could see only boring wall. Luckily, I only had to stay there a few hours because of a small surgery!

Per far passare il tempo ho pensato di scattare qualche foto ma non ho trovato nulla di più interessante!

To pass the time I thought to take some pictures but I found nothing of more interest!

Ora sono a casa, tutto procede bene, quasi guarito!

Now I’m home, everything is going well, almost healed!

Un’altro noioso giorno d’estate

La città è vuota, il caldo è sopportabile, il gelataio non è troppo  lontano. Basta attraversare il piazzale del mercato, ora vuoto.

The town is empty. The heat is bearable, the icecream maker is not too far away. Simply cross the now empty market square.

In casa si sta bene, c’è tranquillità. Posso lavorare sul mio prossimo progetto, un libro con una selezione di foto scattate subito prima, durante e appena dopo il lockdown. Il titolo? “Those days” quei giorni. Vi farò sapere come il libro procederà, rimanete in contatto!

It’s nice at home, it’s so quiet. I can work on my next project, a book with a series of pictures made just before, during and just after the lockdown time. The title? “Those days”. I’ll keep you informed how the book will progress, keep in touch!

E voi come trascorrete queste giornate? Siete in una zone calda oppure no? E’ estate o inverno?

Visiting the Picasso’s exhibition in Lugano Visitando l’esposizione di Picasso a Lugano ho pensato di fare un ritratto a mia moglie.  Ispirato dalle idee dell’artista ho deciso di fare un’immagine leggermente sbagliata.

Dopo tutto qualcuno ha detto che la nitidezza è un concetto borghese…

Visiting the Picasso’s exhibition in Lugano I decided to make a portrait of my wife. Inspired by the ideas of the artist I made a slightly wrong  image.

After all somebody said sharpness is a bourgeois concept…

More left hand drawings

Ancora disegni con la mano sinistra

Nel mio percorso di recupero dal recente incidente continuo a fare, meglio a provare a fare disegni con la mano sinistra! Sempre ispirato a Modigliani.

On my path to recover from the recent accident I still draw, or better said try to draw with my left hand! Always inspired by Modigliani.

Gli amici sanno già che amo le Polaroid. E che amo il disegno. E allora per la serie daily life vita di ogni giorno propongo questa polaroid, sono io con il mio primo disegno realizzato con la mano sinistra!

Friends already know I love Polaroids. And I love drawing. So today for the daily life series I’m working on there is this Polaroid: yes, it’s me with my first drawing made with my left hand!

Ma perché disegnare con la mano sinistra? Semplicemente perché per un banale incidente mi son rotto il braccio destro e non posso utilizzarlo per qualche tempo. E allora ho deciso di far di necessità virtù e un dipinto di Modigliani mi è sembrato il soggetto adatto a questo tentativo.

But why to draw with my left hand? Simply because due to a banal accident I broke my right arm and for a short time I cannot use it. Therefore I decided to transform the inconvenient in a opportunity to try something I never did before and a painting by Modigliani was the subject for this attempt.
