Acqua, finchè ne abbiamo…
Un pomeriggio di qualche settimana fa ho fatto una piccola gita al Lago Maggiore. E ne ho approffittato per scattare qualche foto, così tanto per mantenere l’esercizio. Perchè come tante altre attività anche la fotografia necessita di allenamento per dare risultati che siano almeno piacevoli.
On afternoon a few weeks ago I went on a small trip to the Lago Maggiore. And I took the opportunity to shoot a few frames, just to do some practice. Because like many other activities photography too needs practice to get at least pleasant results.
Non pensavo avrei usato quelle foto per il blog. Ma poi, considerata la difficile situazione idrica che abbiamo in Italia, con pochissime piogge, pochissima neve in montagna, fiumi che già in primavera si stanno asciugando, agricoltori che stanno perdendo una grande parte del raccolto ho pensato di adoperarle.
I did not think I would use those pictures for the blog. But then, thinking of the difficult water situation we have in Italy, with very little railfall, almost no snow in the mountains, rivers that are already drying up in spring, farmers going to loose a large part of the harvest I thought to use them.
Si perchè bisogna celebrare l’acqua e capirne l’importanza. E mettere in atto quei comportamenti necessari alla sua salvaguardia. Anche perchè accadono cose difficili da capire. Come l’idea che con un clima che diventa sempre più caldo, con sempre meno neve sulle montagne c’è chi progetta di aprire nuovi impianti sciistici. Manca la neve? Non importa, spariamo quella artificiale. L’impianto di innevamento artificiale richiede molta acqua per funzionare: non importa, l’importante è andare in montagna e divertirsi sciando. Sic! Cosa dire, tristezza, rabbia…
Yes because we need to celebrate water and understand its importance. And implement those behaviors that are necessary for its preservation. Also because things happen that are hard to understand. Like the idea that with the climate getting warmer and warmer, with less and less snow on the mountains there are those who plan to open new ski resorts. Is there a lack of snow? Never mind, let’s shoot the artificial one. The artificial snow system requires a lot of water to work: it doesn’t matter, the important thing is to go to the mountains and have fun skiing. Sic! What to say, sadness, anger….
L’acqua è utile e necessaria, ed è anche bella. Può essere ferma o in movimento, tranquilla o agitata…ha molti aspetti. Allora provo a chiudere questo post con alcune vecchie foto del mio archivio scattate solo perchè l’acqua mi piaceva, era bella…
Water is useful and necessary, and it is also beautiful. It can be still or moving, quiet or turbulent…it has many aspects. So I try to close this post with some old photos from my archive taken just because I liked water, it was beautiful…in all its aspects

PS: a volte mi ricordo che questo era, è o dovrebbe essere un blog di fotografia. E allora per chi fosse interessato dirò che le foto della serie finale sono tutte foto analogiche, scattate su pellicola per diapositive e scansionate, senza postproduzione.
PS: sometimes I remember that this was, is or should be a photography blog. And so for those interested I will say that the photos in the final series are all analog photos, taken on slide film and scanned, with no postproduction.
