La mia fotografia lenta, N°2

Avevo parlato della mia fotografia lenta pochi giorni fa, in questo post. Le pellicole sono state sviluppate, sono in fase di scansione, selezione e post produzione. Per chi fosse impaziente e curioso (ma non sono tutti i fotografi curiosi?) anticipo qualche scatto per chi è curioso, anche un paio di foto della Voitglander Bessa R adoperata in quella piccola vacanza. I already mentioned my slow photography a few day ago in this post. Films have been developed, actually I’m in the scanning, selecting and processing phase. For the impatient and curious  ones (but aren’t all the photographers curious?) I anticipate a few photos, included a couple of the Voitglander Bessa R I used in this short non photographic holiday. Questo blog negli ultimi tempi è andato a rilento. Non ho scritto molto. Peccato, ero stanco, l’estate terribilmente calda mi ha tolto le energie. Non solo non ho scritto molto ma ho anche letto poco i blog che di solito seguo. Ma la piccola vacanza mi ha ritemprato e sono pronto per la prossima stagione. Nei prossimi articoli vi aggiornerò sui miei progetti, su alcune iniziative alle quali partecipo, su idee in corso di sviluppo. E devo ancora raccontare di Arles…

Over the past few weeks this blog was slow. I didn’t write much. Shame, I was tired, the too hot summer took away my energies. Not only I didn’t write much but I didn’t read oft the blogs I usually follow as well.  Anyway a small holiday was enough to restore my forces and I’m ready for a new season. In my next posts I’ll update you about my projects, about a few initiatives in which I’ll take part, about ideas on progress. And I still have to tell you something about Arles…

Siamo seduti di fronte al nostro computer, clicchiamo un paio di volte e le nostre mail ci appaiono, ben ordinate nella nostra casella in. E’ bello, comodo. A volte rispondiamo subito, a volte rimandiamo. Qualche volta non rispondiamo affatto. Oramai sono diventate attività quasi automatiche. Già, ma comunicare non comporta anche un poco di emozione?

We are sitting in front of our computer and with a few clicks we see our mails. It’s nice, easy. Sometimes we answer soon, sometimes later. Sometimes we do not answer at all. These are now almost automatic activities. Ok, but does not communication involves emotion as well?

Usciamo con la nostra macchina fotografica, batterie cariche e card inserita. Qualche cosa ci interessa e scattiamo delle foto. Torniamo a casa e scarichiamo le foto nel computer e diamo una rapida occhiata.  Anche questa è diventata un’operazione quasi automatica. Ma fotografare non vuol dire soprattutto comunicare ?

We go out with our photo camera, batteries are charged and the card is empty. If there is anything interesting we take a few pictures. Back home we download our photos in the computer and give a quick look. This is as well become an almost automatic operation. But making photographs does not mean above all communicate? 

Quando torno a casa di solito guardo nella cassetta delle lettere, pubblicità e fatture. Non è molto …emozionante. Ma ultimamente è diventato emozionante. Perchè negli ultimi giorni ho ricevuto circa 20 cartoline ! Da tanti paesi del mondo, vicini e lontani! Svizzera, Italia, Germania e Gran Bretagna e USA (California, Washington, North Carolina, Pennsylvania solo per citarne qualcuno).

When I come back home I usually look in the mail box , advertising and invoices. Not really exciting! But lately it became exciting. Because in the last few days I received about 20 post cards! From many places around the world, near and far away. Switzerland, Italy, Germany and United Kingdom in Europe, But many from the USA (California, North Carolina, Pennsylvania just to name a few ones).

E’ un poco come quando esci con una macchina fotografica con una pellicola dentro (lo so, roba d’altri tempi, certi amici mi chiamano filmosauro!) torni a casa e prima di vedere le foto devi almeno sviluppare la pellicola. Il procedimento crea interesse e quando vedi il risultato provi emozione. Già ma quale è il legame fra le cartoline che ricevo e la fotografia con pellicola? Semplice, si chiama RFF = Range Finder Forum. E’ un forum internet di appassionati di macchine fotografiche a telemetro che io frequento volentieri con il nickname Robert Blu e dove fra una quarantina di amici ci siamo scambiati gli indirizzi, abbiamo fatto stampare cartoline da una nostra foto e le abbiamo spedite a tutti gli altri.

It is a little like when you go out whit a film camera (I know, it is something from other times, sometimes friends call me filmosaur) we take photos and when back home before to see something we must at least develop the film. The process creates interest and when you see the result you feel emotion. But where is the connection between the postcards I receive and taking photos with a film camera? Easy, it is called RFF = Range Finder Forum. It is an internet forum (where I’m member with nickname Robert Blu) and where a group of about 40 friends exchanged their post addresses, printed post cards from one of their photos and send them to  the other ones.

Spesso pensiamo che le attività via Internet siano una cosa troppo “virtuale” un poco fuori dal mondo reale. Ma le cartoline sul mio tavolo sono reali e devo ringraziare gli amici di RFF per questa idea, forse la più fantastica di quelle viste in rete. Un’idea che aggiunge un po’ di emozione alla mia vita! Bello! Grazie, amici di RFF!

We oft think the activities in Internet are something too “virtual” and far from the real world. But the postcards on my desk are real and I have to thank the friends of RFF for this idea, probably the most fantastic idea I saw in the net. An idea which adds emotion to my life! It’s nice! Thank you my RFF friends!
