Oggi è il compleanno di Bob Dylan, auguri Bob!

Today is Bob Dylan’s birthday, best wishes Bob!

Per meglio capire il mio rapporto con la musica di Bob Dylan vi rimando a questo mio post di 5 anni fa. E’ una storia di quando ero giovane.

To better understand my relationship with Bob Dylan’s music I refer you to this post of mine from 5 years ago. It’s a story from when I was young.

E’ difficile scegliere una canzone preferita, vi lascio con “When the ship comes in”  cantata al Live Aid di Philadelfia nel 1985 insieme a Keith Richard e Ron Wood che potete vedere ed ascoltare cliccando il link su Youtube e la versione in italiano della stessa canzone cantata da Vinicio Capossela.

It is difficult to choose a favorite song, I leave you with “When the ship comes in” sung at Live Aid in Philadelphia in 1985 with Keith Richard and Ron Wood which you can watch and listen on Youtube and the Italian version of the same song sung by Vinicio Capossela.

Per quanto riguarda il tema della barca è interessante sapere che secondo Suze Rotolo  Dylan è stato influenzato dalla canzone “Lied der Seeräuber-Jenny” contenuta nell’ “Opera da Tre Soldi” (1928) di Bertold Brecht e cantata da Lotte Lenya.

Regarding the boat theme, it is interesting to know that according to Suze Rotolo Dylan was influenced by the song “Lied der Seeräuber-Jenny” contained in the “Threepenny  Opera” (1928) by Bertold Brecht and sung by Lotte Lenya.

Bene, vi lascio con una foto, anche perchè questo è nato come blog fotografico. Come si rapporta questo dettaglio del mio studio con Bob Dylan o Bertold Brecht? Oggi è stata una giornata tranquilla . Mi sono messo al tavolo da disegno…disegnare aiuta a tenere la mente impegnata…vorrei copiare questo volto disegnato da Pellizza Da Volpedo…

Today was a quiet day. I sat at my drawing table…when I draw my brain is busy…I would like to copy this face drawned by Pellizza Da Volpedo…

Ho anche fatto la lista degli alimenti che abbiamo in casa per sapere cosa ordinare la prossima volta…

I also prepared a list with the food we have in house in order to better make the next orders…

Questa mattina il cielo era azzurro ma nel pomeriggio dense nubi sono arrivate e allora mi sono ricordato di questa canzone…forse premonitrice…

In the morning the sky was blue but in the afternoon dark clouds arrived and I thought of this song…perhaps premonitory…

Era il 1970. Avevo poco più di vent’anni. Mi ero fatto prestare da mio papà la sua Rolleiflex. E anche la sua Volkswagen che avevo guidato tante ore per raggiungere il mare sulla Costa Azzurra, a Cannes.

Una volta arrivato ho incontrato dei giovani che suonavano cantando “Blowing in the wind”. E’ stato un momento speciale, lo ricordo ancora adesso a tanti anni di distanza.

Grazie Bob, buon compleanno!

It was 1970. I was a little older than twenty. I borrowed from my father his Rolleiflex. And his Volkswagen too, which I drove many hours to reach the sea, Cannes, South France.

Once arrived I met a group of  young buskers playing and singing “Blowing in the wind”. it was a special moment, I still remember it so many years later.

Thanks Bob, happy birthday!
